November 27 yippie....Dinner turned out lovely! :) I had leftovers but then I did make enough to feed a small army and unfortunately a small army wasnt what I had to feed... only 3 hungry mouths... and no worries just means I got leftovers.. and who doesnt like those? just means I get to enjoy the dinner a couple more times over! haha
I got the christmas tree up as well its purrdy! Mark helped by putting on the candy canes... :) I also have my gnomes knitted and the secound half of the body of the sweater and am in the process of working on the arms... hopefully Im able to get it all knitted up quickly becuase I want it finished before xmas... then I can wear it... :)
Soon as I get the batteries loaded into the camera I will take a picture of my gnomes and show off the finished product and then you will have to wait until I finish my sweater before posting a picture of that... Its lookin really pretty though I can say that.. and so far the arm is knitting up pretty quickly.. :)
Right now I gotta go do some dishes so that I can get back to knitting. :) November 25 Thanksgiving (1 day later)Yesterday was technically thanksgiving but today (friday) we are going to be celebrating it here in our house... Only becuas eI figured it would be nicer to wait until today that way Natalie was invovled in my madness of deciding to cook a big dinner! YIKES! Ive made a greenbean cassarole, sweet potatoes, and stuffing already, then later todya i will put my ham on, roast some carrots and thyme, and boil up some baby taters. I have enjoyed every ounce of being in that kitchen cooking! Finally got out of bed at 8 this morning and at 8.17 I started doing the cassarole.. :)
I ended up not going to london on wednesday figured I would do it another day when the other ladies are able to get down there, and not to mention saves me from getting ahead of myself AGAIN on my patterns.. I ahve a couple I still need to finish, but one good thing, Im ALMOST done with my gnomes!! Ive done their beards its just sewig them on knitting and sewing on their noses and then their hats into place and they are finished! YEAH GO ME! :) Then I get to finish my cabled sweater... hey if I finish it maybe I can wear it on christmas day... but thats saying I finish it before then! HAHAHAHAHAHAH
Im looking forward to tonights dinner.... specially the stuffing as Ive been craving it for AGES And have finally made me some. :) Mark made me laugh yesterday he came in and I was cutting up some celery but had eveyrthing else going for the stuffing and he goes whats that for? I said stuffing and he went oh alright then a couple seconds later he goes it smells better then it taste and I gave him a bit of a dirty look and started laughing and he goes no seriously I was talking about the celery not the stuffing!! and I know he was because he hates celery! HHAHAHAHAHA It just seriously made me laugh the way he said it...
Okay so theres a book in town that I want, called Knitting Over The Edge, and obviously its a knitting book, I dont know how much it costs, but it gives you ways to change patterns like if you were doing a rib pattern for a sweater or whatever it shows you how to change them up to look different. :) So I want that book... :)

November 21 Boy it sure is froggy out there!Cold cold nights and cold morning and cold days have left it to be very froggy I mean foggy in the morning... This morning when we woke up and I walked down to the door with Mark I couldnt even see across the street to the park and no it werent because I didnt have my glasses on either! HAHA it was just that froggy this morning.... Still a bit froggy but not as bad as it was this morning and the frost is melting... looks funny because the pavements are frosting over as well so it looks like its snowed when it actually hasnt... The cold isnt going to be going away either its just going to get colder by the end of the week... +5c is the high for us.. whoppie doo da day huh? HAHA
Im nearly finished with my gnomes,, working on their hats.... of course I still have to sew and stuff their legs and arms...
Cant remember if I said or not?? But I read The Little Prisoner by Jane Elliott, that was very touching story... Sad as it was based on a true story but touching becasue shes made it through her horrible childhood/teen years nd is living a good healthy life with her husband and 2 daughters... I have a couple more books I still need to read but trying to behave and do my knitting before picking up another book and Im debating on buying Danielle Steels book Echoes.... I keep passing it buy daily, I am sure that I will end up buying it sooner than later! HAHAH
Planning on going down to London on Wednesdays to pick up some more goodies from the yarn store.. WOO HOO! :) Need to pick out some more patterns that I really would like to do but am unable to find the yarn here in town....
Alright off to drink coffee and go through my magazines. :) November 16 Have you seen my slippers?Okay so winter was slowly coming, but it seemed to have gained force and now it approaching pretty quickly! I have pulled out and am wearing my winter coat now I do have my scarf out but havent really needed that yet... cant wiat until I do becuase I still love it as much as I did last year when I made it!! :)
My gnomes are coming along nicely! I have the two bodies completely knitted stuffed and swen together and I just finished my second set of legs last night so now I have four legs and boots sitting there waiting to be swen and stuffed and sewn to the bodies but going to knit the arms first... I just think they are slightly disturbing with legs only! HHAH So they insted they can continue to look like bowling pins and maybe Ill get some practice in and find little ball to know them over with! HAHAHAHAHA...
Got another books from Jodi Picoult when I was in town the other day this one is called Salem Falls I really do like her work... or well the two books Ive read so far from her, she can suck you in and make you feel like you really are watching everything unfold in front of your eyes and I think that is great when an author is able to do that! But of course that book is just among the many others that are sitting there waiting to be read.
Marks been pretty sick.. Well hes sick... how sick Im not sure... but because hes a man hes dying, all men are dying when they are sick! HAHAHA But he is sick becuase last night he went to bed at 8.30 I woke him up at 15 to 10 tell him to go brush his teeth and get under the covers instead of on them and he said he had only meant to lay down to watch tv,,, uh-huh thats why he was snoring! he stayed up for a bit but was back in bed by 11.30.. he sounds a bit rough and looks a bit pale but other then that I just think hes got a really nasty cold not the flu like he says.. but then to be fair to him I dont have it myself... though Im trying to make sure he takes something for it so hes taking some cold and flue pills that i have forgotten their names! but last year when he was really sick he took them and said they worked so hopefully he starts to feel better soon!! Feel bad for him becuase hes working outside int he cold as well.. and thats just rotten when you already arent feeling well...
okay off to get myself ready going into town to the hairdresser today though I dont remember what shes doing and tomorrow I get to go back down again so she can wash and blowdry my hair.... i like when they do that.. always feels nice letting someone else wash your hair. :)
When I finish with all of my gnomes Ill group them all up together and take a picture to show them off... hopefully each one will look slightly different from the next. colours will all be the same but as they are done by hand Im hoping that when I sew and stuff them that they will look slightly different... the two that I have completed one has a small nose and the other has a big ol nose so theres those two differences.... November 10 Baby its cold outside...Well actually its cold inside right now as well! Ive just turned the heat on had it off because it was pretty warm and when I got to town I turn it off otherwise I tend to feel like Im melting when I walk back in the door its so hot... But its getting colder,,,, and can tell winter is SLOWLY and I do mean SLOWLY approaching,... Im used to wearing my winter coat this time of the year but Im still able to just wear a sweater outside and am warm enough....
As far as my gnomes go, they are coming together slowly, Im working the last two together now just finished their heads and am about to go onto their bodies.... but I figure if I work them both together, will still take the same amount of time but be finished together and out the way! Then I want to finish my cabled sweater and natalies socks and I have a couple more projects that I want to start, but I am not starting nor saying what I want to start until I finish all of this stuff, otherwise I know what will happen, none of it will get finished! Luton put on a fireworks displayed so Mark and I walked down and watched it becuase the weather was nice, cold and windy, but nice! NO RAIN!! WOO HOO!! Said it was supposed to rain tonight but it didnt!! So anyways we went down and watched the fireworks, oh they were so pretty!! We both enjoyed ourselves got there right as they were counting down so we werent standing around long and then we were able to leave soon as they ended and didnt get caught up in any traffic, car or foot wise! THAT was nice!
When we were walking down there was a little bit that turned off the path and you could see up the street that it backed onto the field they were being shot off at so we sneaked up that way and everyone else keept walking up, we had a perfect spot, at the back of the crowd and right between two trees we seen everything without being pinned in from everyone! :) Mark even said it was one of the better ones hes seen the town put on.. Me well I love fireworks anyways so I loved them! :)
Also today I finished my second gnome, hes all knitted sewn and stuffed, sitting on top of our monitor keeping hte first one company. :) taking a break for right now to read The Pact finally... I will end up reading and then knitting a third gnome... gotta have them finished before christmas. :)
Tonight I was watching Charmed and a gnome was found shot in magic school (not my gnomes! HAHA) but then one of the sisters said "how come the G is silent in gnome" think about it, would sound very funny pronouncing it,,,, G-nome... hmmm.. HAHAHA
anyways off for the evening to go sit in the bedroom and warm up, Ive finally gotten my temperature normal that now Im cold! HAHAH :) November 02 Some people...Why is it that when you have a guy working in a mall and he has a dinky little toy badge he thinks then he is better then everyone else? Now mind you not all mall security are like that... When I grew up we had one that worked in the plaza behind us that would harrass myself and others just if we were minding our own business walking around even if I was on my own going to visit Wendi (my sister) for her lunch break he would give me a hard time if he seen me, no matter how often wendi spoke to him he still treated me like dog crap. But then there was another guy that worked there that was sweet as candy! I really did like him and I would look for him all the time just to make sure I stopped and said hello to him and if I would see him away from work I always took a moment to stop and say hello to him.
Reason I even say anything about this as I pretty much completely forgot about all of this as it was around 8-9 years ago you kinda forget these sort of things, but today I went to town did my shopping and as I was leaving these three girls were down there one was on a bike, mind you she was in the wrong but the guy that was "dealing" with it was being a complete idiot! Youve already got 3 girls with tempers as hes trying to make them leave and they were actually headed for the door anyways, but thats not the point. As he was on the walkie talkie talking to whoever it was on the other side I heard him call these girls stupid now I dont care who you are, you dont call people stupid in a situation like that, I wanted to say something to him but didnt... He keeps mouthing off to the girls and them to him now the easiest thing would have been to actually acted like a man and walked to the door gave them their warning tell them if he sees them again he will call the police on them whatever, but he then keept going at them and called one of them a tart! NOW WHAT IN THE WORLD WAS HE THINKING??? I wanted to really smack him upside his head at this point. What is a grown man calling three teenage girls a tart for? oh I was so mad I really did want to say something to him but I didnt, instead I just walked out shaking my head.
I dont care who you are or what postion you are in calling people stupid, and tarts is just not professional now no matter what those girls do or say that guy will get away with it because hes older and they will probably be less likely to believe the girls if they did file a complaint but I really did want to slap him upside his head and ask him where his manners were! If you are working in a postion like that you should expect to run into situations like that and be prepared to have and hold a level head! Geesh! November 01 DUH!!!Alright you remember that cardigan I was going on and on and on and on about and how I was going to tear it apart, guess what, IM NOT!! ITS FINISHED! I was just not looking past wanting that damn frill on it that I completely ignored just hot pretty the sweater was/is on its own without the frill...
What happened was today sitting here got cold was to lazy to go get one of my cardigans from the bedroom so I had my pink knitted on sitting on the back of the couch now as Ive yet to tear the seams out I decided it would do in the privacy of my own home but when I put it one and looked down I liked it, and I really did want to make it wearable! so I went into the bathroom where our mirror is and looked and just went WOW it looks really nice just as it is, so there we have it, all along I could have worn it but just realised this today.... of course I now have to figure out something to close it with,,, I did go looking for something in town but everything they offered was well UGLY! hahah... so I think I will make a really nice knitted flower or something with the millions of balls of spare yarn I have left over in this colour.. as I dont have enough for a full sweater looks like loads of socks, or I could buy some other colours and do a stripped sweater... I havent decided... socks sound nice! HAHAHAHAHAH |
