    Its Thursday?

thats just how creative I am at the moment for coming up with a title... but hey, it is actually thursday!

Alright Mom, I will forward on the joke to you.. promise. :)

As for my shrug/bolero, well ya see, I ripped it all apart as I knitted it, it seemed to keep getting stretchier which made it wider and wider, now alright Im a biggish girl but I werent THAT big! So I ripped it out and am starting over, this time though its just a simple stocking stitch one but Im going to I think but a cable edge around the whole thing just to give it a bit of funk, I havent decided if I wanted to tie it, or if Im going to make a button hole for it... Ill go tomorrow into town anyways so Ill stop and have a look at buttons and things to decide what I want to do, if I can find the perfect button well then Ill be doing that, if not Ill be making it to tie... There are a couple more that I want to do off of actually patterns so we shall see what comes up tomorrow with that!

Alright I should probably get back to knitting, cleaning, or laundry now and stop waisting time sitting on the computer... but I still have a bit of my coffee to finish before getting up so maybe Ill flick thru web pages to take up more time! hehe

    Happy Mothers Day

So its Mothers day here in the UK and I will be calling my mother soon to wish her one,,, but she aint got no card.. she will get that in may when its the proper mothers day! HAHAHAHA....

So Friday when I went to town I bought some yarn, last night I did a bit of measuring and writting down of things, I also casted on and knit a row, but now I am going to start doing the pattern and the peice I am working on is the back... I will take some pics of the yarn tomorrow and I doubt I will have much progress to show so it will probably be a boring ball of colour that gets shown... :)

As for the baby sweater mom and how the birthday boy liked it, not sure, we werent able to get over in time on Wednesday to give to him because they had to make a flight by 6. Sooooooo... when they get back (it might have been today?) we will go over (probably tomorrow) and see him then to see how he likes the sweater... if not tomorrow, well at some stage before hes to big for it! HAHA...

Right now I am off to knit a couple rows before dinner is done, and boy does it smell yummie! :D

    Memoirs Of A Geisha

A novel by Arthur Golden. I wanted to read this book because I seen a review on the movie (which I also want to see!) that said if you see the movie its great for the way its made artistic content, blah blah blah, but as for the story, its not so good, read the book so thats just what I did.... Ill see the movie when it comes to dvd.
So anyways my review for the book....
I found it an excellent book. Ive always been fasinated but hvent really known much about Geisha. Well really the Japanese culture in general, one day i would LOVE to visit there... Who knows if I ever will but its a one day hope! :) Anyways this book was very well written, I could hardly put it down, yet sadly there were times I had to force myself to in order to still be surviving now. After all one does have to sleep eat and shower.... But this book has a way of wrapping you up into the story and making you think you are watching things unfold as a fly upon the wall would. But then when it got near the end I found it to be slightly slower in pace and wasnt as impressed with it as I was with the begining. Still all in all a very good book and if you see it buy, and or borrow a copy to read! :)

(sorry no knitting or crocheting just reading)

    Rambling....

Funny how time passes, people changes, things dont always go they way perhaps you thought they would, you loose touch with people you once knew... and yet here with all this technology around us and a little thing called the web we are able to catch up with people you would probably otherwise never have seen nor spoke to again in your life...
A friend sent me a link ages ago to a place called Myspace, now like all the other crap ive signed up to I figured this one wouldnt be much different.. but I signed up kept in touch with her on and off, and right now its off... will be on again eventually thats just the way it works with us. :).... anyways Ive actully met up with a couple other friends as well that i used to go to school with and surprisingly have had a better shot at keeping in touch with them becasue of that site.... better then the other ones Ive used anywyas its mostly used (for me anyways) to try and keep in touch with out school friends, but others use it for all sorts,,, I do have a couple people on there that I didnt go to school with but instead met online...
This morning however I got talking to one guy and ended up pulling out pictures and yearbooks and all sorts from school... who knows the last time I pulled those out! probably 3 years ago! HAHAHA Anyways it was nice talking to him and looking through all the pictures I h ave,,,, man did some funny stories come up as well....
Anyways... heres to memories! :) Good and Bad.....

    I DID IT!

I have finally decided which stitch pattern I am going to do for when I make my cardi, now I have to find a yarn I like and that will look good. I want a black one, or a pastel shade, I am not sure I will have to look and see what JUMPS at me.. I want it to go with more then one thing as well so there will lie my problem but hey i havent been to look yet. I still havent decided on what size I will want it, but I do know I dont want to chunky so perhaps a dk or smaller. The pattern will be an open diamond like lace... Dont have a picture of what I mean or I would show it. But once I figure out the yarn I want to  use I will have to swatch so I will have something to show for it!
Im going to do a simple drop in sleeve so there will be no shaping, perhaps it would turn out the best, but its what I want to do. I am hoping that it will actually turn out really nice...
All this means is over the next week I will have to go into town and look to figure out the yarn I want to use, I have no clue how much I am going to need but Ill get to that point when I get closer to figureing out what yarn/colour I will be using... I just had to post I have figured out the style I want to knit for my first "design" finally........

Its ready for the birthday boy...

Ive finished my sweater! :) Heres some pictures....
There the sweater was this morning, pinned together (the pins on the wrong side of the sweater! HAHA) and no neck band yet....
And here is the sweater in all its glory, sewn together, neck band, everything! Just finished it actually! So Marks not even seen it completed but Im posting it, he will see it once he comes home tonight. :)
Close up of the stitch details.
The first picture is probably truest to the colour for some reason the other two are coming up to be a brighter blue then what the sweater actually is. More of a grey blue colour. Still very pretty in my opinion....
The sweater pattern came from Sirdar Cheeky Chinos 297 Design B (without the hood) and was knit with Sirdar Snuggly DK Shade 0240 its a Nylon Acrylic mix and was knit on a 3.25mm and 4mm needles.
Hopefully this weekend we can run it over to Noah and get a picture of him in it... if not then there are your picture of the sweater! :) Im happy to have it finished and now I will crochet on my blanket, read a book, or figure out how I want to design my own cardi/shrug. But for the moment I am going to go wrap up under a blanket and rest... Im cold, Im tired, and Im grumpy right now... wheres my chocolate? HHAHAHAHAHAHHA

Im nearly to the finish line!!

Almost crossing the line! I finished knitting the front of the baby sweater yesterday afternoon and instead of working on sewing it up I left it.. oops! Though last night I pinned it all together goof ball me pinned the front of and back together the wrong way so the goo sides are facing out instead of in, doesnt really do for helpful sewing that! HAHHH OOOPS! Not a problem I will just take that apart and fix the pins again this time making sure they ae on the wrong side of the work! *but the right side for sewing* and then I will do the shoulder seams and knit the collar sew everything else and Ill be done, cant wait! :) Im so excited that it is nearly done!!! Ill post some pictures of it soon, promise!
    March 14

    Man is it cold outside....

Okay it was starting to feel mildly springy outside last week, this week... HA! Its COLD outside. :( I dont mind cold if it has snow involved, but we dont have snow! So I mind the cold! Geesh..... Its raining, well raining, hailing, misting, but its yet to turn to snow, I swear its cold enough out there for snow we just aint getting it!... *sigh*

So Moms birds have a total of 3 babies now, shes VERY happy and I am VERY happy for her!! So now that shes got birdie babies does that mean Im supposed to knit things for them? Little bird booties and little bird hats? Well if I am supposed to Im not... I think I would be certifiably nuts then, and I am trying to stay away from going there thank you very much...

Baby sweater project report: I am nearly finished! I just finished the fourth pattern repeat!! So that means half of one to go and then shape the neck and cast off, sew together and do the neck then it is COMPLETED!!! WAAA HOOO I will finish by this weekend! :) I havent really minded this sweater, its really nice looking if I am completely honest and I think it will look very fetching on the little guy its going to as well. :) My only problem was that I messed up to many times, and that was no ones fault other then my own! And for the front (why I happen to be reknitting it now!!) I was hoping that the mistakes would fix themselves, and guess what, they didnt! Now why doesnt that surprise me? Oh yeah because its not magic yarn thats why! HAHAHA

Crochet blanket report: I made good headway on it Sunday morning/afternoon but havent touched it since. It really is looking nice even if it is a stashbuster. Once the sweater is finished i will work more on it while thinking of how i would like to do the sweater I am planing for myself.... Thinking in my head while doing a mind numbingly boring blanket is easy.... and when im not thinking I can watch telly, so its more of a bit of a vacation to do the blanket for a while... and hey if it grows a bit more it may be able to keep me SLIGHTLY warm while I crochet it, then again it will probably do me absolutely no good becuase its still to small, good thing we have another blanket for the front room to do that job huh? :)

Okay enough rambling, have a good day everyone Im off to put my feet up and drink my chocolate milk and moan to myself about everything and nothing at all, why you ask? Because I can is my simple answer back! HAHAHAHAHAHHAAHHAHAAHAHHAHA
    March 11

    IM A BIRDIE AUNT!!!!!

OKay, has NOTHING to do with knitting but....

    IM A BIRDIE AUNT!!!!

I am really excited!! I just got a phone call off my mom telling me shes had her first egg hatch! Its a cockatiel and she didnt think any of them would actually hatch but one did!!! And she just called to let me know shes got a baby!! WOOO HOOOO So happy for her!!!! I know I know, I  dislike, well I have a fear of birds, but who cares! MY MOMS HAD HER FIRST EGG HATCH!!! WOO HOOO go birdies! Go mom!!! :)

    Pizza day....

Well not every saturday is pizza day, but this saturday happens to be pizza day for us as that is what we are having for dinner.. yum!
OKay so I have made very little progress on the baby sweater I keep finding other things to do... though I am nearly finished with the second of the 18 row repeats which means 2.5 more to go then do the shaping for the neck, sew it all together and sort the neck out.... yeah I will eventually get it done, but I will HAVE IT DONE BY THE 22nd without a doubt, well really i have no choice. Its a birthday present, I am NOT going to give a birthday present late!
So other then knitting the baby sweater Ive also been crocheting a blanket, its more to get rid of all the odd balls of yarn I have laying around the place so that I can get more in to take its place. As well as that the blanket will keep me warm when I get cold.. though spring is coming which means soon summer will so it may get made and sit for a while before it actually gets used, and even that is alright with me becuase its only stash busting and its mindless so Im able to do it while watching a movie or something on tv, to where as the baby sweater takes concentration... good thing nothing is on tv this weekend and I have nothing no movies I want to watch...
Right off to finish making my pizza so I can eat me dinner... will update again when I have more of the sweater done... :)
    March 08

    its raining its pouring....

the old man may be snoring but I cant hear one... and I sure aint snoring..... :)
    Anyways.....
So on Monday I started the front of the baby sweater, got the bottom rib, and 4 rows finished and thats it. Yesterday was spent doing a couple loads of laundry, going to the store, and watching movies. I ended up watching, Are We There Yet? Found that one funny! And then I watched The Island, good film! Makes ya think, must make Mark sit down and watch it. I wont tell you anything about it, incase you want to watch it, but yep I have to say its a gotta watch at least once film. :) Then I started to watch Lord Of War but turned it off about 40 minutes in, I just werent getting into it. And here I wanted to pay 6.60 or whatever it is to go see it in the movies (i know its over 6£) now I am REALLY glad that i didnt pay to go see it in the theater! Would have been dissapointed. I know that its got good reviews and stuff, but so wasnt my sort of film I suppose. Though what is actually my sort Im not completely sure....
Alright so today I am going to knit some more of baby sweater, do a couple more loads of laundry and run to the store to get some dinner..... but going to try and get loads of knitting done so i have more to tell tomorrow! :)
    March 05

    On a roll!!!

Oh yeah... Im on a roll! :)
Finished the second sleeve a couple minutes ago! :) WOO HOO Now tomorrow I shall cast on and start the front over again. thats stupid mistake is doing my head in.... See this is what happens when you have to have things just right! HAHA... I think if time permits and headaches stay away I am going to undo the last couple of rows on the back and redo them as I have found a mistake in them as well.. GRRRRRR *make it really angry sounding! HAHA*
Alright now i am off to get ready for bed... Well that and pull the clothes out the washer and hang them up to dry tonight...
Have a great night/day! Ill update on the front when I start/have some to talk about! :)

    17 days left....

Until Noah turns a year old and I have to have a completed baby sweater for him. Mark I am not to sure if hes bothered if I finish it in time or not, actually i dont even think he realises his nephews birthday is in 17 days. Hes a man, hes bad with dates... But he does make me laugh and smile when it comes to things like that...
So anyways I did complete the other sleeve, it was third time lucky for it! :) Ive been working on the second one just not with as much vigor as I suppose I should be considering theres 17 days left.
SOOOOOOOOOOOO What I am thinking is this.... finish the second sleeve, perfectly so there are no mistakes in it. Once that is completed cast on and reknit the front of the baby sweater, only rip that apart when I need the yarn from it, otherwise leave it intack incase I go bananas and actually need it! HAHAHA. THEN sew it all together knit the collar and hand it to the intended baby to stay warm in. Its not a really thick sweater so he will be able to wear it happily in the spring, cool summer nights, autumn and next winter. Its meant to fit a 1-2 year old and he will only be 1. So hes got a year to get lots of wearing out of it!
I still say I need a break and I will read a book before going to my next project. I think my next project is going to be a self made stripping sweater that goes to mid thigh. I seen it on the back of one of my mags and I liked it, but Im going to change the look and do it my way becuase I am not sure how else to do it as there is no pattern for it and I am not going to look and buy one I want to make a Jennifer induced mess of a pattern if you please. HAHAHA
Right off to drink my coffee and knit a couple more rows of double moss stitch on said baby sweater arm.....
    March 02

    Could it really be?

    Of course it could/is!!!

Thats me gold medal, so happy!! :)

Right now thats shown *and i am proud to say I did it!* It looks like its going to be 3rd time lucky on the baby sweater sleeve... I  started it on monday and had to rip it on Tuesday morning because I messed it up but I couldnt spot where when I looked but I could spot it while I knitted it, and that was driving me mad!! So I ripped it out again and started over. Hopefully i havent just curssed myself because I only have 1.5 in left before the shapping and casting off. I should be able to finish this sleeve tonight. I probably could have gotten more done last night but I gave my hands a rest while I watched Desperate Housewives.

Today I go and see Alex in town to help her out with her NVQ last time I was supposed to she was home sick so shes had to wait again until today. Thats at 1.30 so when I come back home I am going to have super pretty hair!!! HAHA All curled and stuff....

Mom please tell Taylor that I wish him a VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! And give him LOADS of HUGS AND KISSES  specially from me!!:) Love you all over there and miss you guys!!
